Create a base drawing of a photograph to paint a portrait.
The workshop format includes:
Selecting and posterizing a photograph into two, three, or four levels, e.g., black and white; black, gray, and white; or black, dark gray, light gray, and white. If you are adventurous you may use colors.
Drawing the image onto a canvas board.
Learning basic acrylic technique, brush care, and strategies to complete a successful portrait.
Starting the painting using acrylics.
This workshop can accomodate one or two people at $50 per person plus $15 for materials including a canvas board, paint, and brushes, plus sales tax. The workshop lasts three hours, and includes light snacks. The workshop prepares you to start painting your portrait. Plan on continuing the process at home.
